Pathmark Trip 7/31

Today is the last day for the baby bucks cycle. I needed $25 dollars to get $15 Baby Bucks. So I went today to get 6 more Similac concetrated cans. Spent 11.17 after my $2 off coupons, but I got $15 baby bucks to spend next time. I'll be using it this week for grocery. So that's minus 3.83 to my formula expenses. (I'm counting the Baby Bucks as CASH.)

Stockpile
39 - 13 oz similac concentrated cans
2 - 1QT Ready to feed Similac
1 - 12.9 oz Similac Powder

If you were to purchase them regular price I would pay 167.31 for the concetrated cans, $12.98 for the ready to feed, and about $13 for the powder. It would cost me 193.29! I saved 60% so far!! I'll post pictures next time.

Pathmark Trip 7/30

Went to Pathmark again today. I bought 8 cans of Similac Advance concentrated cans. I spent $13.03 after coupons. I spent $82.15 so far for formulas! I never used the concentrated cans for my first daughter so I don't know exactly how many cans I need a week. I used ready to feed formulas with my first daughter and I remembered using about 1 bottle a day. I hope when I'm done with my formulas stockpile it will be enough to last for 3 or 4 months until I go back to work.

You can use whatever combination you want. It depends on what you need. My scenario is just an example on how much you can save when you buy items that are free after SCR and using coupons when buying diapers and other baby stuff. I don't usually buy it if I don't need it or I have plenty of it since I don't have space at home to store them. But since buying FREE after SCR and combining it with coupon helps me get diapers for really cheap, then I'll make an exception. If you don't need them, you can always donate them or give it to friends and families.

My Total Cost of Diapers Spent

TOTAL SPENT : $25.43 (15 diapers)

Since I'm tracking the cost of formula spent for the new baby, I'm also going to keep track on how much diapers I'm spending. This month is actually the first month I started stockpiling for diapers for the new baby.

It's a little tricky to calculate this month expenses since I did the Rite Aid promotion for Huggies. I had to do a few transactions and I bought other things to get a better deal on huggies. So I'm just going to give you estimate cost for this month.

I bought 5 huggies jumbo pack and 1 tube of balmex = 61.74 (did 2 transactions)
Minus coupons used =18.50
=$43.24
I'll get back $ 25 gift card and free jumbo pack of diaper worth 11.49
=$18.24 or $3.04 per diaper.

Since I'm getting 6 Huggies Jumbo total with the free voucher of Huggies, I'll get back $5.50 for rebate from Caregivers Marketplace (for 6 huggies and 1 balmex).

TOTAL COST = $12.74 for 6 Diapers!!!!!! ($2.12/diaper)

Who could resist that deal! So I asked my mother in law to use her address to do another transaction. I know I'm not suppose to. This is the first and last time I will use her address. I also took advantage of the J&J promotion buy 50 and get back $25 GC and the free gift bag samples.

Items bought: did 6 transactions

5 jumbo huggies
1 size 4 pampers
4 banana boat sunblock sprays
3 aveeno 2.5oz lotion
2 aveeno body wash 12 oz
5 listerine 500 ml
1 oral B power toothbrush
1 children's tylenol

Total paid out of pocket : $ 88.11

But I will get back:

2 $25 Gift Cards
Gift Bag Samples
$6 Single Check Rebate ( $2 for pampers, $4 for oral B)
1 voucher of free huggies diaper
$4.50 Caregivers Marketplace.

= $60.50 Cash Back

Actual Cost of all items are = 27.61

It's little complicated how I'm going to calculate actual diaper spent since I bought other things aside from diapers. So to make it easier I'm going to count per item cost.

23 items = 1.20 each (I'm counting the free huggies as 23rd item)

= $7.20 (6 huggies)

I also bought pampers swaddlers in CVS with last week sale = after coupons and the money maker transaction that I purchased paid = 1.99 for Jumbo size 1

I also bought last week 2 huggies jumbo and 5 wipes in A&P = paid $27 but got back $20 Baby Bucks. I normally would not buy the huggies because it wasn't on sale (I did used a coupon) but I wanted to make sure I will get the Baby Bucks before it expires. (they don't roll over). Besides those baby bucks I got it from buying wipes and paying very little or free.

Wipes = 2.50 (.50 cents each)
2 Huggies = $5
I'll get back 1.50 from Caregivers Marketplace
= 3.50 for 2 packs

TOTAL SPENT : $25.43 (15 diapers)

Pathmark Trip

I gave up with Rite Aid. There is no way they are getting more similac advance in the store. So I decided to try the grocery store. Today I went to Pathmark to see how much I would spend and save with the coupons. I can't have those coupons go wasted. It's like wasting my $12.39 cents!

I was in the baby aisle calculating my cost per can for about 15 minutes.

Ready to feed bottle cost -6.29
Buy 16 bottles (not all the same transaction of course) = $100.64
Minus $32 coupons
= 68.64
I will get back $15 for baby bucks = 53.64 or 3.35 per bottle. It's not $2 each but at least I'm saving about 50%.

I was ready to buy 5 bottles until I saw a lady picked up those concentrated cans for $4.29 each. Then it hit me! I will save even more if I use my $2 off for those cans. I never used concentrated with my first daughter so I was not sure if they are the same amount as the ready to feed bottle once it's mixed with water.

I wonder what was the lady thinking when I asked her if you add water to the concentrated cans, if it's the same amount as the ready to feed bottle. She's probably thinking why I'm buying them too soon and the baby is not even out yet or she's thinking I'm pregnant again and I have a baby at home!

So here is my calculation:
If I buy 24 cans = 102.96
-$48 coupons
= 54.96 - $15 baby bucks
= 39.96 or 1.66 per can!!!! or about $100 for 60 cans.

I'm hoping that will last 3 months so I don't have to worry not getting paid enough during my maternity leave. You're probably wondering what if the baby will not take the similac formula. I would be wasting money. No, Not really. I have a couple of friends that are pregnant, I'm sure they will be happy to take this from me. And I am still hoping to breast feed, atleast for the first few months. But I just want to make sure I have something just in case breast feeding doesn't work out.

I bought only 5 cans today. I still have more than a month until the coupons expire. I hate going to the register with more than 5 of the same coupons. Cashiers for some reason hates that.

5 concentrated cans = 21.45
- $10 coupons
= 11.45

Spent : $11.45
Total Spent : 36.03

My Guilty Trip at Rite Aid

I've been going to Rite Aid everyday to see if they received new inventories for Similac. Remember I have 60 coupons to use! They have other kinds left but not the regular Similac Advance. So I decided to buy the 2 bottles left from one Rite Aid even though I will not get the deal that I was hoping for since I will not be able to use the coupon for $5 off $25 purchased.

But it turned out to be a better deal. Here's what I bought:
2 similac ready to feed = 10
1 similac powder 12.9 oz = 13.19
1 aveeno lotion = 7.79 (I needed this for the J&J rebate, I only needed $6 more to qualify for GC)
my total would have been = 30.98
minus my coupons:
-$6 (3 similac coupons)
-5/25 coupons
- $2 off aveeno
=17.98

Here's the guilty part. My aveeno coupon will not scan. She tried a few times but the register will not take it. I told her never mind I don't want the aveeno. So she took it off and gave me a total for $12.19. When I left the store, I realized she should have taken the $5 off also since my total is no longer 25 dollars, instead $23.19. So now I've been feeling guilty and afraid to go back to that store!

Spent : $12.19
Total Formula Spent: $24.58

Formula Expenses

Did you ever wondered the yearly cost of formulas?? I've researched the Internet and there's no exact amount since prices varies due to different brands of formulas and it matters if it is ready to feed or powder. According to Aetna InteliHealth, the cost of using ready to feed formulas is about $4000 a year, not including accessories such as bottles. The cost of using powder is about 1500 a year.

Well I decided to keep track on my formula expenses to see how much I would save by using coupons and stockpiling.

Last week I posted about cheap Similac ready to feed for this week sales in Rite Aid. It is 2 for $10. I know I'm not due for another 3 months but with coupons I will end up paying each ready to feed bottle for $2 each(reg. price 6.29). So I decided to order 60 coupons in Ebay! I was not worried if there is not enought stock in one store since there are about 5 Rite Aids within 3 miles.

I paid $12.39 for 60 coupons of $2 off any similac (.20 cents each coupon). Well guess what? Out of 5 store only one has them and they only have 2 bottles left.

Upromise

UPromise College Dream Sweepstakes

I have been Upromise member for over a year now. But I have not been using it actively until recently. What it does is certain purchases you make earns you or your kids money for college. Just like ebates and other rebates program, you get certain percent of your online purchases. But instead of getting paid, you save it for college or pay for your student loans. But unlike Ebates, Upromise lets you earn money with your groceries, eating from participating restaurants and even filling up your gas. Ebay is also one of their partners. I'm saving 2% when I'm buying my coupons in Ebay.

Upromise also have eCoupons, just like any other coupons you save money by purchasing the product but instead of deducting the amount from your purchase it goes to your Upromise Savings.

These are baby coupons in eCoupons for July. It changes every month.
  • Buy 1 Similac Ready to Feed Infant Formula, save $1.00 for college
  • Buy any package of HUGGIES or HUGGIES Supreme Diapers, save $1.50 for college
Don't forget you can double dip your savings by using the $2 off similac coupon and huggies $1.50 off that just came out last Sunday. Actually triple your saving by sending your receipt to Caregivers Marketplace for a rebate of .75 cents for the huggies.

If you haven't already signed up, I highly recommemd you do. My current saving as of today is $11.24. I know that's not much but 16 years from now when my daughter goes to college it will be worth more.

I wonder if I can use all 3 coupons in one transactions. I need new bottles for the new baby.

Inbox Dollars

I usually don't like surveys because they are very time consuming. Some surveys sometimes take 30 minutes to finish and only get paid 25 to 50 cents each. I know it can add up and some people are making pretty good amount of money doing surveys. Personally, it's not for me. I just don't have too much time to sit in the computer. I'm already having a hard time finding time to blog. I have a daughter who's very demanding of my time. I'm also not a stay at home mom. I still work part time.

But I decided to try Inbox Dollars. They send you emails and you get paid for reading them. They don't pay much 1 to 10 cents each email and they only send you about 2 to 5 emails a day. They also have surveys that pays you .25 to .50 cents each. They also give you $5 for signing up.

As of today, my current earnings is $9.37. So I still have a long way to go to cash it in. You need a minimum $30 to get paid. If you are interested SIGN UP HERE.

Swagbucks

I just recently signed up for Swagbucks. I just want to give you an update on how I'm doing. I currently have 36 swagbucks. I need 9 more to qualify for $5 amazon giftcard.I've only been a member for about 2 weeks. If you haven't signed up to swagbucks yet, you should. It's not going to make you rich, it will not even pay for your bills. But it is the easiest to make a few dollars here and there. If you are using google to search in the internet like I do, might as well get paid for it. Some people are actually getting a lot of swagbucks and earning video games or ipods. As for me, I still have a long way to go. So SIGN UP NOW and they will give you 3 swagbucks to start.

Where to Find Cheap Photo Prints

I'm always looking for ways to get good deal on photo prints. When I first had my daughter, her first year I developed thousands of pictures. Just her first few days in the hospital I filled a whole photo album. As a matter of fact, I have an album for each month of her first year. I spent so much money just for pictures. Although I don't regret taking those pictures, because I have those memories to look back to, I do regret paying full price for them. I'm going to share to you what I've learned from my mistakes. Don't get me wrong, I still love to take pictures of my daughter.

I used to only signed up to one photo developing site, which is Kodak Gallery. I never tried any other sites or services. I would get offers from other company, such as Snapfish or Shutterfly, but completely ignored them. Little did I know that was my biggest mistake. If only I knew that Kodak Gallery is actually one of the most expensive picture processing services out there.

One way of getting cheap prints is to sign up not only to one place but to few places. Usually they have monthly promotions of free prints, discounted prints, or free shipping. If you are a member to different site, you are able to participate on all the sales. For example, if this month Snapfish, Shutterfly, and Kodak Gallery are offering 50 prints free, if you are member on all three, instead of getting only 50 prints, you are getting 150 prints free. Another advantage to have multiple membership, is that you are able to participate on SIGN UP promotion, which usually free prints or products.

If you don't have space on your computer for thousands of pictures to store, I suggest to pick one processing place as a primary for storage. Snapfish is a good choice for this, since they offer unlimited storage space with no fees.

These are some of the well known photo developing services out there. I decided to compare each one. Prices are based on first 100 - 4x6 prints with shipping. These are the current prices as of today.

Snapfish
  • 9 cents per 4x6 = $9 for 100 prints
  • shipping price = .99 for first 5 prints and additional .49 cents per set of 10 prints
  • cost per 100 prints with shipping = $14.89
  • actual 4x6 price with shipping = .15 cents each
First time customer get first 20 prints free when you upload to the first time. They guarantee lowest price compare to Kodak Gallery and Shutterfly. I'm currently a member of Snapfish.

KodakGallery
  • 15 cents per 4x6 for non gallery premier print plan = $15 for 100
  • 10 cents for gallery premier print plan = $10 for 100 ( $24/yr or 2.49/month)
  • Shipping is free on all order $4.99 and above and $1.50 for orders less than $4.99
  • Actual price for non premier plan = 15 cents each 100 prints
  • Actual price for premier plan = 10 cents each
New customer start with 20 FREE 4 x 6 prints just for joining. The free shipping is actually new to Kodak Gallery. I wish they had free shipping before, I would have saved a lot. I was a member but after not ordering for one year from them, all my pictures got deleted. Not happy.

Shutterfly
  • .15 cents per 4x6 = $15 for 100 prints
  • standard shipping = 4.99 (for 100 prints)
  • cost for 100 prints with shipping = 19.99
  • actual price your paying = .20 cents
First time customer gets 25 4x6 free just pay shipping for $2.49. I'm also Shutterly member.

York Photo

  • 8 cents per 4x6 = $8 for 100 prints
  • shipping .49 cents for first 5 then additional .49cents per 10 prints =5.39
  • cost for 100 prints with shipping = 13.39
  • actual price your paying for 100 prints = .13 cents each (THE CHEAPEST DEAL I FOUND)
New customer get 30 prints for free plus plus 20 more prints for 5cents each. Use Coupon Code = 50FORABUCK. So sign up and order your 50 prints for $3.94. I'm not a member yet, but I'm definitely signing up to get 50 prints for $3.94. Also they have a cheapest price per 4x6 prints, even with shipping price.

SeeHere
  • .12 cents per 4x6 = $12 for 100
  • shipping = 5.19
  • cost for 100 prints with shipping $17.19
  • actual cost = .17 cents per print
First time customer gets 100 free 4x6, not including shipping. Just pay 5.19 for 100 prints (that's 5 cents each). The best sign up promo I've seen so far. I recommend to sign up to this site. Just download 100 of your pictures and order them. Even if you don't decide to use the site. You never know they might have good promotional sales in the future. I just recently discovered this site while doing this research. I'm definitely signing up for sure.

PhotoWorks
  • 1-499 4x6 prints -.15 cents each = $15 for 100
  • shipping (76-100) = 5.99
  • cost for 100 prints with shipping = 20.99
  • actual cost = .21 cents each.
Sign Up and get 50 prints free. Just pay shipping for 2.99. I'm also signing up to PhotoWorks for the sign up bonus of 50 prints free. $2.99 is a good deal.

MyPhotAlbum
  • .19 cents each (9cents for member with a $20/year fee)
  • shipping 76-100 prints = 5.99
  • cost for 100 prints with shipping = $19 for non member, 14.99 for members
  • actual cost = 24cents for non member and .15 cents for member.
I'm actually using this as a storage for my pictures since I don't have too much space in my computer. This is my second year using this site. The only reason I signed up to this site is because whatever quality of the picture you upload, you can download the same quality. So it's good for sharing. If my mom wants a picture from my photo album, she can just download it and she can print it on her own. I've also ordered a few times with them since their prices are the same as Snapfish. They also have great album designs that you can choose. You can also download video. They just recently launched a facebook application but I have not tried it yet. If you don't want to pay for the membership fee I recommend using Snapfish to store all your pictures.

CVSPhoto
  • .19 cents for 4x6 = $19 for 100 prints
  • shipping = 3.99 / store pick up = FREE
  • total cost of the 100 prints and shipping = 22.99
  • actual price per 4x6 = .22 cents / .19cents for store pick up
Get 20 Free Prints when you open an account and 30 more when you add your ExtraCare card number to your account. You will receive an email with a link to activate your free prints. Use the pick up option for free shipping! I already have my 50 prints free!

Walgreens Photo

  • .15cents for store pick up / .12 cents for mail delivery =$15 / $12
  • shipping = 5.89 for 100 prints
  • total cost for mail delivery = 17.89 / $15 for store pick up
  • actual cost per 100 prints = .18cents for home delivery / .15 cents for pick up
Ongoing promotion through July 25 - 50 prints for $5 = Promo Code = SUMMER50
I've also been using walgreens for more than a year now. I've ordered many times with them when they have prints sales.
