Tonight's Bedtime Story: It Will be Okay

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers program.

Whether we like it or not, growing up brings change. For many children, this conjures fears that are sometimes real and sometimes imagined. How can kids learn that even when they face new and unfamiliar situations, they don't have to be afraid?

Little Seed and Little Fox are facing changes and brand new circumstances-and they don't like it one bit! Through this unlikely friendship, children will discover that no matter how new or fearful their circumstances, God is always with them. The whimsical art by Natalia Moore will put a smile on kids' faces and put their minds at ease. Just as Little Seed and Little Fox learn to trust that the Farmer is good and kind, children will also learn to trust God.

It will be Okay is a really cute story about teaching kids how to trust God. We really enjoyed reading this book. It is a great way to teach kids not to be afraid and to always trust God. It is also a great reminder to us adults. My kids and I were able to discuss and share our fears to each other and how we can overcome them and to be patient and have faith that God has a purpose and better plan for us. This book also teaches kids about friendship. We adore Little Seed and Little Fox friendship. You can really feel how much they care for each other.

Just Sayin' Review

*Product Sample Received*

I've always struggled to do my daily devotional when I was younger. And I'm sure a lot of kids feel the same way. This is why I really like Just Sayin' because it is not your typical devotional book for girls.

It’s an all-out open space for you to explore and learn more about yourself and your faith. Prompts get your mind thinking, ideas flowing, and help turn your thoughts and emotions into dynamic doodles and more!

Each of the short, single-page devos were designed for girls and teens, with relevant topic, quotes, Scripture, plus doodles, journal prompts, lists, puzzles, quizzes, fill-in-the-blank prayers, and unique activities that explore Bible truths and ways to apply the everyday. Just Sayin’ challenges girls to follow Jesus every day.

I gave this to my 11 year old niece and she really likes it. She like to draw and doodles so this is perfect for her. She likes that all the activities on the book are very simple and easy to understand. The puzzles and quizzes are also fun to do.

Disclosure: BookLook Bloggers-Thomas Nelson Publishers provided me this Book free as part of their book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review.

Parragon Books Review and Giveaway

I am a member of Parragon blogger book review club "Book Buddies." I was sent two books to review this month.

The first book they sent me is The Bully and the Shrimp by Catherine Allison. It's about a boy name Noah Shrimpton. He's small for his age. He moves to a new school and the class bully starts picking on him. He's afraid to tell anyone so he uses his journal to draw and expresses himself. At the end of the book he gains confidence and learns to stand up for himself.

We enjoyed reading this book. My kids liked the illustration specially Noah's journal.  He draws dinosaurs and draws himself as superhero. I really like that this book teaches kids how to handle bullying. It teaches them the importance of telling someone when they are being bullied and to speak up. October is National Bullying Prevention Month so this books was a perfect book to read.

We were also sent The Wonderfully Wicked Witches - Create your own coven of witches. The box comes with a book that shows you step-by-step instructions on how to make 8 witches. It also contains felt, thread, stuffing, and buttons to make your first witch.

We had a lot of fun creating our first witch. My girls are still too young to sew so I did that part. But they were able to help me trace, cut and do the stuffing. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. It took us about an hour doing this craft.

Parragon Books Review

I am so excited to be part of Parragon  blogger book review club "Book Buddies." This month they sent me two books to review, Spot A lot Animal Escape and Professor Murphy's Emporium of Entertainment Harmonica How to Play Like a Pro.

Spot A lot Animal Escape by Steve Smallman

Spot A lot Animal Escape has become our new favorite book to read. It's about the animals escaped from the zoo and you have to help the zookeeper find the missing animals. All my girls love this book. It's such a fun interactive book. They love looking and searching for the animals. They always try to make it a game who can spot the animals first. You can easily spend half an hour reading this book not because it's a long book but because there are so many animals to spot in each page.  I like that this book helps my little one practice her numbers. It's very easy to read. My 7 year old had no problem reading this book.

Professor Murphy's Emporium of Entertainment Harmonica How to Play Like a Pro.

This set comes with a book that helps you master basic techniques and 15 classic songs such as Happy Birthday and Jingle Bells. It also comes with a harmonica, carrying case and a cleaning cloth. The instruction book is very easy follow. My 5 year old daughter was able to play a little bit of Happy Birthday in just minutes.  She was so excited that she was able to carry a tune and it actually sounded like a Happy Birthday song.

This would be a perfect gift to give to a child who like to play music or anyone who's been wanting to learn to play a harmonica.

Shushybye Review and Giveaweay

I recently reviewed
Shushybye Sleepover Surprise book, and Close Your Eyes CD, by The Shushybye Dream Band.

About Shushybye

SHUSHYBYE is a preschool entertainment and lifestyle brand designed to inspire children to look forward to sleep time and help parents prepare their children for sleep in a fun and loving way that encourages imagination. Importantly, SHUSHYBYE helps create healthful sleep habits for toddlers and preschoolers.

Book Description

SHUSHYBYE is the land way above the clouds where the Shushies (led by SNOOZLES, DOZIE AND ZEEZ) make dreams for children, then place them in SHUSHYBYE Dream Boxes, which are sent to sleeping children via the SHUSHYBYE Train driven by CONDUCTOR MCCLOUD. In order to get their SHUSHYBYEdreams each night, children have to go to sleep on time for the arrival of the SHUSHYBYE Train.

I never heard of Shushybye until I reviewed the book. I really like this book. I love the idea of encouraging kids to look forward to sleep. The book is fun to read. It is colorful and my daughter loves the characters from the book. Her favorite part is that the front and back of the book is glow in the dark! That alone will get kids to look forward reading it at bedtime!

Since Olivia is only 2, she's not quite ready for this book yet., but don't get me wrong she still loves this book. She's just used to reading picture books that has only 1 or 2 sentences in each page. Instead of reading it to her exactly from the book, I summarize each page for her. She gets very distracted easy and loves to flip the pages! She still able to understand the concept of it. She thinks I'm reading it word by word. The book also comes with a CD which reads for you and you just follow along and listen.

This would be perfect for Olivia when she's a little older. I will definitely continue to read this for her during bed time. Shushybye Sleepover Surprise book is our new addition to our bedtime routine!

I also got a chance to review the Close Your Eyes CD, by The Shushybye Dream Band. My daughter and I loves this CD! At first I thought it would be all lullabies to help kids sleep, but I was wrong. You can actually dance with the music. It is fun and entertaining. You can play it not just at bedtime but through out the day. Our favorite song is Feels Like Magic.

Visit Shushybye website for other products they carry. They also carry DVDs, sleepwear and toys! So check them out!
