Virtual Baby Shower: Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL Car Seat Review and Giveaway

My husband and I have been looking for a car seat that would fit in our car. With 3 kids, still in a car seat we thought our only option was to buy a bigger car or a van. Until I saw the Sunshine Kids Radian XTSL Car Seat...I showed my husband this picture (below) and we were both excited that there's actually a convertible car seat that can fit 3-across in a mid-size vehicle. And I was even more excited when I found out that I will have chance to review it.

However we did end up buying a new bigger car not because the car seat problem but because we found out we were having another girl. My husband really wants his baby boy so Baby #3 is not gonna be our last baby.

I was sent the RadianXTSL in Eclipse color. I'm really impressed with this car seat. You can really tell it's very well made and durable. I let my husband install it and he had no problem installing it. He thought it was pretty easy.

What I love about the RadianXTSL

  • It came full assembled. You don't have to do anything but add the infant support pillow.
  • I really like that you can have this car seat rear facing up to 45 pounds. We all know it is so much safer to have toddlers in rear facing position for as long as possible.
  • I can have my daughter in forward-facing in a 5-point harness for a very long time - up to 80 pounds. Libby is only 45 pounds so I know this car seat is definitely worth getting. It would be the only car seat I will ever need for her.
  • Very easy to install. My husband installed it using the SuperLATCH system and it only took minutes. The car seat feels very secure.
  • It's great for traveling. You can fold it flat and carry on your back. It even comes with a carrying strap. However it is a bit heavy.
  • It has 2 recline positions in forward-facing mode.

Radian XTSL Key Features

  • Rear-facing: 5 - 45 lbs
  • Forward-facing: 20 - 80 lbs (and up to 53") in a 5-point harness
  • Steel alloy frame and aluminum reinforced sides
  • SuperLATCH™ installation up to 80 lbs - no seat belt required
  • Easy-Tite™ adjuster for quick and easy tightening, installs in 1 minute
  • Adjustable head support, reinforced for complete side-impact safety
  • Energy-absorbing EPS foam panels on all sides
  • Safestop® energy-absorbing harness system
  • Rubber bottom grips for no-slip installation
  • 5 shoulder and 3 buckle positions for proper harness fit
  • Fits 3-across in a mid-size vehicle and offers more shoulder space
  • 3-in-1 infant/toddler full body support cushions
  • Memory foam padding for superior comfort
  • Folds flat for travel and storage, includes convenient carry strap
  • Sits low on vehicle seat for easy child boarding
  • Forward and rear facing tether system
  • 2 recline positions in forward-facing mode
If there's one thing others may complain about this car seat is that it's very heavy. For me though I don't think it's a negative. It's heavy because it's made of steel alloy frame and reinforced with aluminum sides. This is what makes this car seat safer.

Virtual Baby Shower: ErgoBaby Carrier Review and Giveaway

I don't think anyone would understand my love for baby wearing unless they are a "baby wearing mom" also. I never used to be one until I had Emma. I fell in love with baby wearing when I first carried her in a wrap. Now 17 months later, I own about seven different kinds of carriers. I think I've tried most types of carriers out there, from a sling, wrap, soft, and framed carrier, I tried them all. Of course I have my favorites and the Ergo Baby Carrier is definitely one of my favorites for many reasons.

I've already tried the Ergo Carrier before I was even sent one to review. My sister has one and she let me used it for a while. I know I have to eventually give it back to her that's why I was so happy when I found out that I was going to review one.

You see once you try an Ergo Carrier, you kinda forget about your other carriers. The Ergo is the only carrier my husband doesn't really mine using. We both can carry our 17 month old and my 3 year old comfortably without any strain in our back. Our kids love being carried in it too!

I was sent the Organic Desert Bloom Baby Carrier to review and honestly the first time I've seen it, I thought it was an odd color. But I did like the prints of the inside lining and hood. After using it for a couple of weeks, I have gotten used to the color and I actually love it now.

So what do I love about the Ergo? First of all it's one of the most comfortable carrier I ever tried. Don't get me wrong, I love wrap carriers but when my daughter was about 8 months, it was not comfortable anymore. She was getting too heavy for it. Other carriers I've tried is only comfortable when my my daughter weigh less than 25 pounds, after that I could not carry her for a long period of time. But with the Ergo, I can probably carry Emma (27 lbs) all day without causing any strain on my back. And my husband can carry my 3 1/2 year old daughter all day without any problem.

The Ergo carrier is the only carrier I leave in the car. We don't bring strollers around so when we are out Emma is always being carried and the Ergo is definitely my choice of carrier to use to go out. The rest of my carrier, I leave at home if I have to carry her for short period of time.

My favorite features of the Ergo...

  • Very easy to put on. I honestly did not even read the direction. You can easily figure it out. There is only two buckles. One for the waist and the other one for your back or chest.
  • The shoulder straps are very well padded. I can carry my kids for a long time without hurting my shoulders. The whole straps are padded not just part of it. I have a lillebaby Everywear carrier and the one thing I hated about it is that the shoulder pads is adjustable, meaning you can pull it down or up but it always get twisted. But with the Ergo, I have no problem with the straps getting twisted since the whole things is padded. It's comfortable on my shoulder and my side back.
  • I love the pockets! The pocket is large enough for my wallet, car keys, and cell phone. It's perfect when I'm out grocery shopping. I can even put my coupons in there.
  • I can carry my daughter on the front, back or hips. I have only carried Emma once on my hip. I prefer carrying her on my back or front. But it's nice that you have that option.
  • It has a Sleeping hood with elastic which you can also use as a sun shade.
  • It is machine washable.
  • You can roll the straps and theres an elastic to hold it. I really like that feature because I hate it when there are long straps hanging everywhere...it annoys me!
  • It's been tested to carry up 90 pounds! I don't think I can carry my daughter when she's that heavy but its good to know I can use this carrier for a very long time.
I haven't used this carrier in an infant but I'm really excited to try it when Baby #3 comes. I just have to get the infant insert. There are also other accessories that you can buy with your Ergo. One of them that I really would love to get is the Back Pack. It easily snaps around the straps of the ERGObaby carrier, for an all-in-one baby carrier and day pack. And another one is the Doll Carrier. I showed it to Libby and now she wants one for her Baby GoGo.

Virtual Baby Shower: Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump Review

When I was pregnant with Emma, I knew I had to to get a breast pump when I go back to work. I wanted a double electric breast pump for faster pumping but hated the idea of paying so much for it. I wished I would have known about Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump. Not only they work just as great but they are way affordable than other double electric breast pumps out there.

Features:

  • Custom Expression TM Technology for maximum milk flow
  • Guaranteed to prevent milk backup in tubing & pump
  • One-touch let-down button
  • ComfortFit TM breast flanges for a soft, secure fit
  • Easy to use - easy to clean
  • Adjustable cycle & suction
  • Designed for everyday long term use at home or away
  • Built-in bottle holders to help prevent spills
  • AC adaptor or battery operated (6 AA batteries not included)
  • BPA Free
What I love about the Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric Breast Pump:

  • Very easy to assemble and use.
  • Very easy to clean. It does not have a lot of parts to wash. I don't have to worry about milk going to the tubing or the pump.
  • It has one touch let down button.
  • It tells you how long you have been pumping.
  • It's affordable. It only cost $150!
If there's one thing others will complain about this pump is that it does not come with a bag. But I really don't mind. I can always use my own bag and it's small enough to fit inside any of my bags.

Virtual Baby Shower: Lovable Labels Review and Giveaway

Every time I turn around I see babies and toddlers have the same bottle, sippy cups, pacifiers and toys as my kids. I hate the thought off picking up the wrong bottle or sippy cup and giving it to them. So I label anything and everything that belongs to them.

For the past year I've reviewed a few personalized labels for my kids. And recently I had a chance to review another company called
Lovable Labels. I can honestly say Lovable Labels is by far my favorite labels I own. Although it is just like my other labels, they are dishwasher, microwave and laundry safe, their designs are so much cuter!

I was sent their
Ultimate Camp Pack in Nature Lover to review. Not only it comes in seven sizes but each one has different designs.

The Ultimate Camp Pack includes:
15 Regular Sticker Labels
40 Slimline Sticker Labels
72 Press n'Stick Clothing DOTS
12 Shoe Labels
2 Mini-Metal Tags (two 4” silver ball chains incld)
12 Square Labels

These labels are waterproof, dishwasher and microwave safe, laundry and dryer safe, sun safe, bleach safe, sunscreen safe and temperature safe. Their labels has very strong adhesions. They stick very well and does not come off very easily. This is very important specially with my kids who love to remove stickers and labels.

I have used them for a couple of weeks now and so far I have no problem with the labels coming off or fading. Even after many wash. Another reason I love Lovable Labels is that their labels comes in a little notebook with tabs. It makes it easy to find the labels you need and easy to organize. Unlike my other labels that came with a ziplock/plastic bag for storage.

GIVEAWAY

Lovable Labels has generously supplied us with a "Camp Pack" for one lucky winner! Thanks, Lovable Labels!

This giveaway ends just in time for Camp Season on March 28. The winner will be selected by random draw and will have 7 days to respond to our notification email before another winner is selected. This giveaway is open to Canadian and US residents only.

To Enter: Go to the Lovable Labels website and leave comment telling me which one of their amazing product is your fav!

Virtual Baby Shower Event: Belle Baby Carrier Review and Giveaway

I never carried Libby in a carrier when she was a baby. I remember owning one but she hated being on it. We were both uncomfortable. It was complicated to put on and had so many straps. So when I was pregnant with Emma, a carrier was not on my list to buy. However it all changed when I had a chance to try the Baby Phat Carrier. I fell in love with babywearing. Now, I would rather wear her than use a stroller. In fact we hardly ever used our double stroller anymore.

I recently had a chance to try the Belle Baby Carrier. This carrier is ideal for infants 8-30 lbs. I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I really love this carrier. It is so lightweight and it folds really small. It easily fit in my diaper bag without taking a lot of room compare to my other carriers. In fact when it came in the mail, I was not even sure if it was a carrier because it came in a small box. When I saw the label where it came from, my first thought was they sent me a carrier without a box. It really is the least bulky out of all my carriers. I don't even think any of my other carriers fit in my diaper bag, if it does I would not be able to put anything else inside.

The Belle Baby Carrier is also a little different compare to my other carriers. It has a cross-over straps which distributes your baby's weight to your hips, instead of your back and shoulders. And I can really tell a difference. I hardly carry Emma in the front because she's getting too heavy so most of the time she is being carried on my back. But with the Belle Baby she did not feel heavy at all. I was comfortable wearing her even at 20 weeks pregnant. The cross-over straps however made it a little difficult to put on the first time. But now that I have gotten used to it, putting it on and off is a piece of cake!

Also, out of all my carriers, Belle Baby has the least fabric which gives you direct contact of the baby. Your baby is nestled directly against you without straps or fabric in between which increased bonding. The fabric is also much thinner compare to other carriers I own. The carrier I reviewed is the Organic Jubilee which is made of organic cotton and hemp blended straps and waistbelt. The inside liner is also a blended organic cotton and hemp undyed ultra-soft fuzzy fleece.

I really like that you can carry your baby facing toward you or away from you. But I do wish you can also carry in the back. I also wish that I can use it longer than 30 pounds because Emma is already 24 pounds and I know she will outgrow this carrier soon. But I am definitely looking forward to use it for the next baby.

Another nice thing about Belle Baby carrier is that it comes with a head support for infants. You don't have to buy it separately. They also offer twelve stylish patterns, including five organic baby carriers made of hemp / organic cotton fabrics.

Overall, I love the Belle Baby Carrier and recommend them! They are great for smaller babies up to 30 pounds.

Virtual Baby Shower: Baby Bond Review & Giveaway

I was never comfortable breastfeeding in public or even breastfeeding in front of my relatives. I remember how awkward it was to breastfeed for the first time and my mom, sister, mother in-law watching me. I couldn't use a cover because I was still learning and I wanted to make sure my baby was latching properly.

But even after my 2nd child I am still not comfortable breastfeeding in front of people. I gave birth in the same hospital where I work and I remember so many coworkers visited me and for some reason every time a visitor came I was always breastfeeding. I swear I think all my coworkers and husband's coworkers seen my boobs!

I own quite a few nursing covers. I don't like them much because I like to see my baby feeding. My kids don't like it either because it gets very hot. Every time I use some kind of cover, they always come out sweating and wet. And I'm sure they hate being in the dark while eating.

I recently came across Baby Bond. It's a nursing cover but what's so unique about Baby Bond is it does not cover your baby, only the mom. So it's great for me because I don't have to worry exposing my boobs :) I can still make eye contact and interact with my baby while feeding. After all breastfeeding is a time for bonding. And honestly I love to watch my kids while they are feeding. It's our special time together.

Baby Bond comes in three designs, Flex, Original, and Couture. I was sent the Flex design to review. You wear it like a sash, functioning like a nursing top. You nurse from the top of your shirt and you then separate the layers of fabric for better latching. The double panel keeps your breasts covered. Your back and belly will remain covered with your own shirt. So really nothing is expose. You and your baby can enjoy breastfeeding. The cloth material is also very soft.

What I love about the Baby Bond Flex is that it comes with a double layer terry velour burp cloth that easily attaches to it. Great for newborn stage. Since the burp cloth is not attach you can remove it to wash or even use your own burp cloth. Another feature I like is that it comes with a matching pouch for easy storage.

The Flex is great for shirts that allows you to nurse from the top of your shirt such as v-neck shirts, tank tops, and halter tops. However, you can't use it if you have to nurse from the bottom of your shirt. They do have the Couture that works your entire wardrobe. You can nurse from the top or the bottom of your shirt with the Couture.
