Parragon Books Review and Giveaway

I am a member of Parragon blogger book review club "Book Buddies." I was sent two books to review this month.

The first book they sent me is The Bully and the Shrimp by Catherine Allison. It's about a boy name Noah Shrimpton. He's small for his age. He moves to a new school and the class bully starts picking on him. He's afraid to tell anyone so he uses his journal to draw and expresses himself. At the end of the book he gains confidence and learns to stand up for himself.

We enjoyed reading this book. My kids liked the illustration specially Noah's journal.  He draws dinosaurs and draws himself as superhero. I really like that this book teaches kids how to handle bullying. It teaches them the importance of telling someone when they are being bullied and to speak up. October is National Bullying Prevention Month so this books was a perfect book to read.

We were also sent The Wonderfully Wicked Witches - Create your own coven of witches. The box comes with a book that shows you step-by-step instructions on how to make 8 witches. It also contains felt, thread, stuffing, and buttons to make your first witch.

We had a lot of fun creating our first witch. My girls are still too young to sew so I did that part. But they were able to help me trace, cut and do the stuffing. The instructions were pretty easy to follow. It took us about an hour doing this craft.
