Review: Red Chair Press Funny Bone Readers

Reading time is one of our favorite things to do at home. My daughter doesn't know how to read yet but she loves it when her dad and I read to her. She has always loved books since she was very little. She owns so many books I can't even count them anymore. She even prefers buying her books instead of toys. That is why my favorite product to review on this blog are children's books.

I recently had a chance to review the Complete Reader Set (12 books) from Funny Bone Readers and Libby loves them all! Each books teaches your child about fairness, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring and citizenship.

Every child knows that some things are right, and some things are wrong. But helping children develop good character is more challenging than teaching right from wrong. With Funny Bone Readers: Developing Character in your classroom or home, children will learn from funny stories and silly characters while making connections to their
own actions.

The recommended ages for these books is 5-8. Libby just turned 3 and she still loves this books. They are very easy to read with just two to three sentences each page. We can go through with one book in just a few minutes which is great for younger kids. They will not get bored or lost interest easily. The illustrations are bright and colorful. It conveys the story very well. You can tell what's the story about with just looking at the pictures.

Her favorite book is the "Lying Around" book. It's about when Leon the lion lied to his friends about their missing items. Then something happens and Leon’s lies are out in the open for everyone to see. We have read it so many times that she can now tell me the whole story page by page.

At the end of each book it has a "Big Questions" where you can ask your child a question about the story. This is my favorite part because it gives me the opportunity to know what she's thinking or if she understood it. Some of her answers are too funny! It also has "Big Words" which teaches her new words that she never learned before.

We are working on teaching her how to read. She knows her letters and we are currently working on sounds. These book will be perfect to use when she starts reading because they are short and simple to read.
