Thanks to gDiapers I'm officially hooked to cloth diapers. I don't think I will ever go back to disposables! I wished I tried them sooner!
I bought two gPants for Emma in size medium (13 to 28 lbs) and instead of the the disposable liners I bought their gCloth liners. I was a little hesitant on buying their gCloth because they are a bit pricey compare to other brands of liners or prefolds. But since I read great reviews about them, I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did.
I love their gPants. They are soft cotton and does not feel or look like a diaper. It's not bulky like other diapers I've seen. Emma wore them all day today and it did not leaked. I loved that I did not have to keep changing the gPants every time she peed or pooped. I did have to change the inner liner when she pooped twice. The liner did a great job catching the poop and preventing the gPants getting soiled.
They are very easy to wash. When the plastic liner got dirty, I just washed it with soap and warm water and hang them to dry. And it was ready to use again in less than an hour! The gCloth was a bit harder to hand wash because they are thick. But I had no problem hand washing them. The poop stain came off easily. And speaking of their gCloth, they feel wonderful! They are so soft! And now that I've washed them a few times they even feel even softer! It's also very absorbent. Like I said no leak so far...We'll see how they do tonight. I added a Joey-Bunz insert just in case :)
The one thing I did not like about their gCloth is that you have to wash them six times before using (wash and dry 6x) For me hand washing and drying it six times would mean I would have to wait next week to try them! So I decided to cut it short. I rinsed them with hot water (no detergent) then boiled them for 20 minutes (few at a time) then washed and dried them in the laundromat twice...I guess it worked because like I said, no leak all day!
I will definitely buy more gPants for Emma, I don't think two is enough even if I wash every day. As for gCloths I think I have enough for now. I have about 12 and I also have 9 Joey-Bunz inserts.
Great to hear you've made the switch to cloth diapers! Keep up the great blogging!
