Grovia Review and Abby's Lane $15 GiftCard Giveaway!

I never understood why so many moms are obsessed with cloth diapers until I started using them..now I am addicted! We just recently switched to cloth diapers and I probably already tried 15 different kinds of cloth diapers, some I purchased some I've won, and some I reviewed.

When we decided to switched to cloth diapers 3 months ago, I was overwhelmed on what brand to get or type of cloth diapers. There are just too many. Since I did not know anyone that use them andI never personally seen one. I did not want to order online and not see them and pay for shipping. So I decided to use gDiapers. Unfortunately, I wish I took the chance on ordering online, because gDiapers did not work for us. Since trying out other All-In-Twos and pocket diapers, I honestly have not used our gDiapers.

But did you know not all online cloth diaper stores charge shipping? Abby's Lane offers free shipping in all their products! I really wish I've known about Abby's Lane sooner. There are times I want to order a diaper and I have to order the minimum to get free shipping, some are $50 and some $70! And many times I end up paying $5 to $7 for shipping!

Abby's Lane carries a lot of top brand diapers such as BumGenius, Happy Heinys, Tiny Tush, Blueberry, Rump A Rooz, Bummis and so much more! They even carry other top baby and mom brands such as Pedipeds, Babylegs, and Ergo. If you're looking for anything definitely check them out to get free shipping!

Abby's Lane was kind enough to let me try the Grovia All-In-Two. I have been wanting try this diaper for a while. After trying a lot of diapers, I've decided that AI2 is what work for us the best because I hand wash. Pockets are great and my husband prefer them but I like the fact that I don't have to hand wash that many pieces. If I use pocket diapers all day and use 12 diapers between Libby and Emma, that means I have to wash 24 pieces plus more if I use doubler. But if I use AI2, I will only have to wash 12 inserts and maybe 4 or 5 inserts!

I love this diaper!! This is Emma's first print diaper and it is beautiful! I love the color and the flower print. And it fits her really well. It looked a little bit small even in the large setting, so I was not sure it would fit Libby who's 37 pounds but it did. It also fit her very well! The rise is just a little below her belly button. This diaper is also very trim. It's not the trimmest diaper I own but it's definitely trim in my standard. Emma can wear her regular size pants and onesies and you probably will not even know she's wearing cloth diaper.

The GroVia Organic Cotton Soaker Pad is very soft and very absorbent. I love that they are organic. I was supposed to wash this diaper a few times before using it, but since I hand wash and hang dry, I could not wait a week to try it! Emma used it after one wash and it did not leak but I did made sure to change her after one pee. But now that it's been properly prepped, I have no problem with any leakage even after a couple of hours being used. However, I am not a huge fan with the soaker being two layers. It does make it faster to dry but I always have a hard time spraying it when it has poop. It kinda get messy. If you have a washer at home, then this should not be a problem. The insert also dries longer than most of my inserts.

The elastics in the legs are great. They are snug but yet gentle. They don't leave any red marks oh her thigh.

Overall, I like this diaper. However, I don't think I would want all my stash to be GroVia because I'm not a huge fan of the soaker. But I will definitely try to get some for traveling so I don't have to bring too many pocket diapers when going out and about. I just have to bring inserts and maybe a couple of covers.

Kissaluvs Marvel AIO Cloth Diaper Review and Giveaway

Another diaper added to my stash is a Kissaluvs Marvel AIO. We have been using it for over a month and I really like this diaper. This is one of the diapers that I reach for first for Emma. So for the past month I probably used this diaper every other day so pretty much it's been used a lot of times!

Kissaluvs Marvel is an All In One diaper. It fits 7-35 lbs. Right now Emma is 23 pounds and fits her in medium setting. Libby uses this diaper once in a while. She's 37 pounds and she's on the large setting. The rise is a little short on her but it still fits her well. It does not affect the performance of the diaper.

It has Patent Pending Self-cleaning, No-stuffing design. You just toss the diaper into your washing machine and the soaker will agitate out to get a thorough cleaning. So you don't have to touch dirty insert. Unfortunately for me, no matter what kind of diaper it is I still have to touch dirty diapers because I hand wash them. But this diaper is really easy to clean. Out of all my diapers this diaper is the one I would rather get pooped on. As a matter of fact this diaper is my favorite diaper to use first in the morning because that's when Emma poops. The poo just slide easily to the toilet and no matter what kind of consistency Emma's poop it easily comes off when sprayed. It does not leave any stain marks so less work for me to clean! And even though the opening is in the back, I never had any problem poop going inside the pocket unlike some of my diapers.

The inner lining is stay-dry fleece which keeps Emma dry and comfortable. It is also very soft. The back elastic and legs are snug and does a great job containing all the mess and yet very gentle and does not leave any red mark. It's trim but not the trimmest diaper in my stash. But trust me I have more diapers that are way bulkier. If I have to compare it to another diaper, it's probably as trim as Bumgenius.

And since it has a pocket opening you can also add an extra insert for more absorbency. However, I never found the need to add a doubler. I never had any leak. I use it for nap time and going out. I haven't use it at night though. I can probably use it at night with an extra insert and would probably work. But like I said, I prefer using this in the morning because it's so easy to clean!

Another feature that I like about this diaper is that it has crossover tabs. Not only smaller babies can fit in it, I can also fold soiled diaper by snapping the tabs to seal the mess. Almost like the Katydid diaper. I always forget my wet bag, so having this feature is really great because I can just put it in my diaper bag without worrying my other things get dirty.

Overall I love this diaper! I love the sleek design and it is very easy to use. The waist has only one row so it's easier to put on. It's easy wash and dry fast. You do have to stuff the insert in but since the insert is attached it's super easy to stuff and you don't have to worry about loosing the insert. It saves a lot of time folding! You can purchase this diaper for about $22.95.

AppleCheeks Review and Giveaway

Another cloth diaper that I recently tried is AppleCheeks. It's a 2 size diapering system. Size 1 fits from 7 - 20lbs, and Size 2 fits from 18 - 40lbs. It can be use as a pocket diaper or as a cover. They sent me two size 2 to try for Emma and Libby.

I have been using this diaper for a month now and I really love this diaper. It fits Libby (she's 37 lbs) so well! It's probably the trimmest diaper I ever tried for her. It's as trim as gDiaper or even trimmer! She can wear her fitted or skinny jeans without any problem. When I first tried it with Emma she was about 19 pounds and the size 2 is a little big but it did not effect the performance of the diaper. Now that she gained more weight it fits her even better.

I prefer using the AppleCheeks as a pocket diaper when using it for Emma. The micro fleece liner keeps her feeling dry. But this diaper is not your regular pocket diaper. The pocket opening is almost at middle. It makes it so much easier to stuff. And you don't have to unstuff it when it's dirty. The inserts come right out in the wash. How cool is that? It washes well also and dries really fast. I always hang dry my diapers and both AppleCheeks cover and inserts dry the fastest out of all my diapers!

Because this is the only diaper that fits Libby so well, she uses it more than Emma. And since we are working on potty training her I prefer using it as AI2/cover so she can feel the wetness. I just lay the insert on top and when it's wet, I just change the insert and as long as the cover is clean, I reuse it. I really wish I have more inserts to use because I really love how this diaper fits her.

The inserts has two layers of ultra-soft 70% rayon from bamboo/30% organic cotton fleece. When the insert is folded to thirds you get six layers absorbency. At first I was a little worried that it was not going to hold a lot of urine because the insert is very thin even when folded to thirds but I was wrong. It's super absorbent! I never had any leak! It can even hold Libby's first morning pee! And I love how it dries fast compare to a microfiber inserts. They are super soft and does not get stiff even if I just hang dry them.

I also like that it has elastic in the back and front. Not only gives you a better fit but it helps contain blowouts. The elastic around the legs are gentle and does not leave any red marks. It does a great job containing all the mess. And I love the ruffle effect of the elastic! I think they are cute.

The cover cost about $19 and the insert is $8.83. It's a bit expensive compare to a pocket diaper. But that's because you get an organic cotton insert instead of a microfiber insert. You can actually save more if you use it as a AI2 system. But since it's a sized diaper, you will have to buy two sizes. However, if you hate having your babies in bulky diapers, AppleCheeks is definitely worth getting. Compare to other perfect size diapers, AppleCheeks only comes in two sizes, 1 and 2 instead of having small, medium, large.

Planet Wise Wet Bag Review and Giveaway!

Wether you use cloth diapers or not, one of things you must have in your diaper bag is a wet bag. They are not just for dirty diapers. You can also use it to put soiled or dirty clothes. They are are great for wet bathing suit or for storing shoes. It keeps the rest of your things in your bag dry and clean. I honestly never own one until recently. I guess I figured I didn't need one because I wasn't using cloth diapers then. I just kept ziplock bags in my diaper bag for wet or dirty clothes.

I really wish I got one sooner. Not only I'm creating so many wastes from plastics bags, I'm also wasting money. And plastic bags are definitely not as attractive as Planet Wise wet bags! I had a chance to review one of their wet bags and I love them!! I'm really impressed with their quality. It is very well made and durable. The inner material is water-proof and it really keeps all the moisture in. I was able to put 5 dirty diapers in the medium size wet bag with a lot more room to spare.

I have been using it for a few weeks now and I have not left home without it! I never had any leak. It keeps the rest of my things clean. I don't have to worry that my daughters clean clothes or snacks will get dirty. And I love that no one will never know that I'm carrying poopy diaper in my bag because it does a great job keeping the odor in. It is also very easy to clean. You can wash and dry it with your cloth diapers or clothes. I always hang dry mine and it dries really fast.

Planet Wise Wet Bags are Available in 3 Sizes
  • Small 8"x10" and holds approx. 1-2 cloth diapers
  • Medium 13"x16" and holds approx. 8-9 cloth diapers
  • Large 18"x21" and holds approx. 16-17 cloth diapers

Planet wise also carries diaper pail liner, wet/dry bag, hanging wet/dry bag and mini wet/dry bag. And it comes in so many cute prints! I would love to own one of their hanging wet bag!

Bummis Easy Fit Diaper Review - UPDATED WITH A GIVEAWAY!

I love the idea of all-in-one clothe diapers. It's simple and convenient to use. You don't have to stuff it. No other extra parts to worry about. But after hearing the cons with using AIOs (takes forever to dry and it does not get clean easily), I decided it was not for me. If you have been following my cloth diapering journey, you know that I hand wash my kids cloth diapers and hanging them on a drying rack. So even if AIOs are just so much easier to use, specially for my husband, I did not buy any.

I heard about Bummis Easy Fit Diaper and contacted them if I can review it. Easy Fit Diaper is just like an all-in-one diaper but you get the benefits of a two piece system or a pocket diaper. It dries fast and clean easy. I was really thrilled when they sent me one to try. They sent me the Lemon color to review.

The Easy Fit diaper is a one size diaper that can fit 8-35 lbs by adjusting the snaps on the front. I haven't tried it on an 8 pound baby but it looks like it will definitely fit. It's a tiny bit smaller than Bumgenius' smallest setting. I've used this diaper for both Emma (20lbs) and Libby (35lbs) and it fits them both very well. Emma is in medium setting and Libby is in large (all snaps open).

What's so cool and unique about this diaper is that although it looks like a pocket diaper because it has an opening, it really is an all-in-one diaper. The liner is actually attached to the diaper so you can open it up for easy cleaning and drying. And when its dry you just stuff it back inside. Since the insert is attach you don't have to worry about looking for the inserts. Don't get me wrong I don't mind pocket diapers, as a matter of fact I LOVE THEM. But if you're like me that owns different "brands" of pocket diapers, it's a bit time consuming stuffing and looking for the right inserts. With the Bummis Easy Fit diaper, it's like having a pocket diaper (that I love) without the hassle of losing inserts!

Because it has a pocket opening you can also adjust the absorption you need for heavy wetters and nighttime by adding extra liners. You can't do that with an AIO! You can even customize the fold to create up to 6 layers of absorbency where your baby needs it! However, I never really found the need to add an extra liner or inserts. This diaper is very absorbent even after just one wash. I never had any leak!

The liner consists of 2 layers, an ultra soft rayon made from bamboo fibres that absorbs 70% more quickly than cotton and an ultra absorbent layer of 100% polyester microfibre which doubles the absorbency. It is very soft even after many washes. This has been peed, pooped many many times and it's very easy to clean. It washes well. I never had any stains. It also dries pretty quickly.

The elastic in the back and legs are gentle to my babies' skin. It does not leave them any red marks. The velcro is strong and still very intact after one month of using it. This is the only diaper with velcro that Emma can not remove. She can manage to take off the gDiapers, Rumparooz and SoftBums. It also has laundry tabs that really sticks well.

Mother-ease Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway

I recently had a chance to try Mother-ease One Size Cloth Diaper which fit from newborn to toilet training. It's made of terry cloth and soft rib-knit binding that covers the elastic at the waist and leg openings. This diaper can fit 8-35 lbs. It comes in four fabrics (Cotton Terry, Organic Cotton Terry, Bamboo Terry, Stay Dry). They sent me the Cotton Terry diaper to review.

I was also given the Air Flow Snap Cover. It has an adjustable snaps at the waist and leg openings and has an air ventilation system between the snaps. This allows for maximum air circulation as baby moves, reducing the risk of bacteria by keeping the temperature inside the diaper down.

I have been using this cloth diaper for almost a month and I really like it. It's very soft and absorbent. They are not the trimmest diaper I've used but they are also not the bulkiest. It's not waterproof so you will need a cover. But when using it during the day, I prefer using it without a cover. Both Emma (20pounds) and Libby (35pounds) have used this diaper without any problem. It fits them both really well. Emma is in the medium setting and Libby is in size Large. Adjusting the size from small, medium, and large is very easy.

I love that there is no buttons on the front to adjust the size so there is no added bulk on the front. This diaper is actually one of my favorite diaper to wear around the house for Libby . It really fits her perfect. It fits her almost like an underwear. Since we are working on potty training her, I prefer using this diaper because she can feel when she's wet. When she pees you can feel outside that the diaper is wet but it's not soaking wet. There is no pee dripping or anything so I don't mind having no cover.

Now that she's almost potty trained, I say almost because she still poo in the diaper, this diaper is the one I use almost daily for her. It's terry cloth so you don't get the smell like you get with microfiber. The material is much more breathable compare to my other diapers.

When I first started cloth diapering more than a month ago (I can't believe it's been a month!), I was using gDiapers and gCloth and it was not working well as a bedtime diaper. We were using disposables at night until I received this diaper. This diaper with the Air Flow Cover works great together as a night time diaper! I never had any leak. The cover is very thin and soft. The elastic is also very gentle. It does not leave any red marks. The only thing I don't like about the cover, and the reason why I don't use it us much except for night time or nap is because although it's thin it looks bulky. The air ventilation system between the snaps gives you that bubble effect. The ventilation does work, you can see it. The bubble effect is the air going in the cover but to me it does not look very flattering. But I don't mind using it at night. I actually love it. I even use it as a cover for gDiapers and it works great with it also!

Overall I am very pleased with this diaper system. If you are looking for a diaper to use at night that is leak-proof, definitely check out Mother-Ease diaper. Not only they work great, they are also very affordable! You can purchase the same One Size Introductory Package I received for $21.95. I really wish I have two or more of this diaper to use for Emma as a night time diaper and as a trainer for Libby.

GIVEAWAY

One lucky reader will win a Mother-Ease One size Introductory Package which consist of One Size Diaper (8-35 lbs), 1 Snap In Absorbent Liner, and 1 Air Flow Snap Cover.

Best Bottom Diaper Review and Giveaway

Switching to cloth diapers has been one of the best decision I made. Since we don't have washer and dryer at home and I hand wash them, it's a lot of work. But I don't I regret switching at all. I don't think I can ever go back to disposables.

I know there are a lot of types of cloth diapers out there. Features that I look for a cloth diaper are easy to wash, dries fast and affordable. And since I hand wash, I prefer AI2 diapers. I don't have to wash too many covers, just the inserts. They dry a lot faster too! That's one of reason why I use gDiapers. Although, I love using gDiapers, there are things I don't like about them.....And after trying Best Bottom Diapers, I'm starting to don't like gDiapers even more!

I was sent the Best Bottom diapering system to review thanks to Nicki from Nicki's Diapers. It includes an outer shell and 3 stay dry inserts. My first impression when I received it was the inserts was a bit bulky compare to gDiapers. The Stay Dry Insert consists of 4 layers of microfiber topped with a super soft no-pill fleece which pulls wetness away from baby's bottom keeping them feeling dry. It comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large. They also carry a Hemp/Organic Cotton Insert which consists of 5 layers of hemp/Certified Organic cotton topped with a soft layer of hemp/Certified Organic cotton fleece. This is suppose to be much trimmer than the Stay Dry Inserts.

Best Bottom Diapers comes in both snap and hook & loop. It comes with 20 yummy colors inspired by ice cream. I received the Strawberry Shortcake and I just love the color. It actually looks prettier in person. This diaper fits from birth to 35 lbs. It has adjustable rise with four settings, and overlapping closure in both snap and hook & loop. It also has leg gussets to help keep everything in.

Olivia and Emma has been using this diaper for a couple of weeks now and this diaper fits them both perfectly. Olivia is 35 pounds and she's using the large setting, all snaps open and Emma is wearing it in the 3rd setting. I was surprise that It did not look bulky at all. It actually looks pretty trim. I can still close Emma's onesies and you would have never known she's wearing a cloth diaper. Even though I'm using a large insert for a medium setting, it does not effect the look or the absorbency. You can definitely get a way of skipping a medium size inserts.

For two weeks we have been using it, we never had any leaks. The leg gussets does a great job keeping everything in. The Stay Dry Inserts really does keep my kids bottom dry. It's so dry that I can't even tell if they peed. I have to feel the microfiber part of it to know if they are wet which is great because I don't have to worry about rashes. The insert is also very easy to clean. The poop just slide out easily. After two weeks of using it, none of my inserts have any stains.

One of my favorite feature of this diaper is that you can snap the insert into the diaper instead of just placing it on top. Since its snaps it prevents from moving and bunching up which was my problem with gDiapers. This is probably one of the reason why I never had any leaks compare to gDiapers. I usually have a hard time changing Emma because she hates being change. Most of the time she's screaming and turning while being change. The snap make it so much easier to change her. I don't have to worry about inserts moving when she's moving around. I've also used the Stay Dry Inserts for my gDiapers and they work great! I actually like it so much better than the gCloth. Because it's much thicker it does not bunches up.

Since the inserts are much thicker, it does takes a bit longer to dry compare to my other inserts. I hang dry them by the window, so it does not get expose to the sun as much. But if you have a dryer or you have clothesline outside, that shouldn't be a problem. I wash every night and hang them and around 5pm the next day they are dry and ready to use again.

Best Bottom Diapers is also great for going out. One of my concerned with switching to cloth is where to put all the cloth diapers. Both of my kids are on cloth diapers so I will usually have to bring 4 diapers when we go out. It might not seem a lot but with cloth diapers 4 can take up a lot of space in my diaper bag. But with Best Bottom Diapers, I won't have to bring that many diapers, just the inserts!

Overall I love Best Bottom Diapers! It's easy to use, even my husband does not mind using it. It's also very affordable. As long as the shell is not soiled, you can reuse it many times ( you will not be needing a bunch of shells). I have no problem using it at nap time, going out or at night time.

I wish I would have known about Best Bottom Diapers sooner and not bought so much gDiapers. Unfortunately my husband banned me from buying anymore diapers. Since I hand wash every night I don't need that many. I'm planning to sell some of my gDiapers and get another shell and 12 inserts. The shell cost $15.25 and the Stay Dry Inserts are $3.37 each. So for 12 changes it will only cost you $55.69!
