Exergen Temporal Scanner Review

You would think I'm an expert in taking temperatures because I'm a nurse. But with my kids I always second doubt myself. When they are sick, I forget I'm a nurse and I just become a panic parent. When they have a fever I'm constantly checking their temperature. My husband hates it because I end up waking them up in the middle of the night to check their temperature.

We have been taking our kids temperature rectally. We find it more accurate. But now that Olivia is 2 years old (almost 3), we can no longer take her temperature that way without screaming and kicking. And she's not old enough to leave a thermometer in her mouth for a few minutes either. Same goes with checking temperature in her armpit. We've tried digital ear thermometer but we find it not as accurate and it is always giving us different readings.

Recently I've seen a lot of temporal thermometer reviewed by mom bloggers but I wasn't sure how it works and if they were accurate. I was not convince until I took my kids to the doctor a few months ago and they used the Exergen Temporal Scanner to take my kids temperature.

That is why I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review one! We have been taking our kids temperature with the Exergen Temporal Scanner since we received it. No more rectal temperature! My kids are happy and I can finally take my kids temperature without waking them up in the middle of the night.

Taking temperature with the Exergen Temporal Scanner is very easy. You simply place it in the middle of forehead and then press and hold the SCAN button. While pressing the SCAN button slide it lightly across the forehead keeping it contact with the skin until you reach the hairline. I can take Olivia's temperature as many times I want and she does not mind. Emma however I have to hold her head a little bit because she keeps turning her head but I have no problem taking her temperature while she's sleeping.

A couple of weeks ago my kids had a fever and I was so glad to have the Exergen Temporal Scanner. Checking my kids temperature never been this easy. It is also very hygienic. Overall I am very happy with my new Exergen Temporal Scanner. I would definitely recommend it. Everyone should have one! In fact this product is one of my favorite products I reviewed so far. As a mom it made my life a little easier. If for some reason this one break, I would buy another one without any hesitation!
