Baby GoGo Doll Review

My daughter just started playing with dolls. She was never a fond of it until recently. So I was really excited to review the Baby GoGo Doll. I knew she was going to love it..and sure I was right! It's now her favorite doll. She usually gets bored and moves on to new toys very fast. She might like a toy today but the next day or two you would never see her play with it again. I guess that's what happens when they have too many toys. But with Baby GoGo Doll she has been playing with it for a couple of weeks! She even sleeps with it. If I let her she would probably would take it with her everywhere. But she's known to forget and lose toys.

Baby GoGo Doll is great tool for teaching young kids to be nurturance and in adjusting to changes in family life, especially in welcoming a new sibling. I really wish we had Baby GoGo before Emma was born. I had a hard time explaining to Libby that she was going to be an Ate (big sister). This doll would have been perfect. It comes with a storybook which is about Baby GoGo leaving the hospital after being born and meeting siblings for the first time.

Aside from the storybook, Baby GoGo also comes with a sleepytime outfit and a cozy, soft blankie which where all packaged beautifully! I was also sent some accessories such as Diaper bag and a diaper for Baby GoGo. Baby GoGo Doll is perfect gift for any occasions such are birthdays. And don't forget Christmas is just around the corner!

My Virtual Tutor DS Game Review

My daughter and niece had a chance to review the My Virtual Tutor on their DS. My niece who just started first grade really enjoyed playing with it so I decided to give it to her. She just started reading and this game helps reinforce what she already learned as well as learn new things.

My Virtual Tutor is a fun way to help your child conquer early reading on the go. It's ideal for Pre-K to Kindergarten. It focuses on letters and sound recognitions, shapes, colors and counting. It includes 8 interactive book with four different play modes (Read to Me, I Can read, Paint, and Interactive Quizzes.

My sister was really thrilled that I gave this to her daughter because my niece loves to play with her DS but none of her games are educational. Not only she's learning but she's having fun at the same time!

Best Bottom Diaper Review and Giveaway

Switching to cloth diapers has been one of the best decision I made. Since we don't have washer and dryer at home and I hand wash them, it's a lot of work. But I don't I regret switching at all. I don't think I can ever go back to disposables.

I know there are a lot of types of cloth diapers out there. Features that I look for a cloth diaper are easy to wash, dries fast and affordable. And since I hand wash, I prefer AI2 diapers. I don't have to wash too many covers, just the inserts. They dry a lot faster too! That's one of reason why I use gDiapers. Although, I love using gDiapers, there are things I don't like about them.....And after trying Best Bottom Diapers, I'm starting to don't like gDiapers even more!

I was sent the Best Bottom diapering system to review thanks to Nicki from Nicki's Diapers. It includes an outer shell and 3 stay dry inserts. My first impression when I received it was the inserts was a bit bulky compare to gDiapers. The Stay Dry Insert consists of 4 layers of microfiber topped with a super soft no-pill fleece which pulls wetness away from baby's bottom keeping them feeling dry. It comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large. They also carry a Hemp/Organic Cotton Insert which consists of 5 layers of hemp/Certified Organic cotton topped with a soft layer of hemp/Certified Organic cotton fleece. This is suppose to be much trimmer than the Stay Dry Inserts.

Best Bottom Diapers comes in both snap and hook & loop. It comes with 20 yummy colors inspired by ice cream. I received the Strawberry Shortcake and I just love the color. It actually looks prettier in person. This diaper fits from birth to 35 lbs. It has adjustable rise with four settings, and overlapping closure in both snap and hook & loop. It also has leg gussets to help keep everything in.

Olivia and Emma has been using this diaper for a couple of weeks now and this diaper fits them both perfectly. Olivia is 35 pounds and she's using the large setting, all snaps open and Emma is wearing it in the 3rd setting. I was surprise that It did not look bulky at all. It actually looks pretty trim. I can still close Emma's onesies and you would have never known she's wearing a cloth diaper. Even though I'm using a large insert for a medium setting, it does not effect the look or the absorbency. You can definitely get a way of skipping a medium size inserts.

For two weeks we have been using it, we never had any leaks. The leg gussets does a great job keeping everything in. The Stay Dry Inserts really does keep my kids bottom dry. It's so dry that I can't even tell if they peed. I have to feel the microfiber part of it to know if they are wet which is great because I don't have to worry about rashes. The insert is also very easy to clean. The poop just slide out easily. After two weeks of using it, none of my inserts have any stains.

One of my favorite feature of this diaper is that you can snap the insert into the diaper instead of just placing it on top. Since its snaps it prevents from moving and bunching up which was my problem with gDiapers. This is probably one of the reason why I never had any leaks compare to gDiapers. I usually have a hard time changing Emma because she hates being change. Most of the time she's screaming and turning while being change. The snap make it so much easier to change her. I don't have to worry about inserts moving when she's moving around. I've also used the Stay Dry Inserts for my gDiapers and they work great! I actually like it so much better than the gCloth. Because it's much thicker it does not bunches up.

Since the inserts are much thicker, it does takes a bit longer to dry compare to my other inserts. I hang dry them by the window, so it does not get expose to the sun as much. But if you have a dryer or you have clothesline outside, that shouldn't be a problem. I wash every night and hang them and around 5pm the next day they are dry and ready to use again.

Best Bottom Diapers is also great for going out. One of my concerned with switching to cloth is where to put all the cloth diapers. Both of my kids are on cloth diapers so I will usually have to bring 4 diapers when we go out. It might not seem a lot but with cloth diapers 4 can take up a lot of space in my diaper bag. But with Best Bottom Diapers, I won't have to bring that many diapers, just the inserts!

Overall I love Best Bottom Diapers! It's easy to use, even my husband does not mind using it. It's also very affordable. As long as the shell is not soiled, you can reuse it many times ( you will not be needing a bunch of shells). I have no problem using it at nap time, going out or at night time.

I wish I would have known about Best Bottom Diapers sooner and not bought so much gDiapers. Unfortunately my husband banned me from buying anymore diapers. Since I hand wash every night I don't need that many. I'm planning to sell some of my gDiapers and get another shell and 12 inserts. The shell cost $15.25 and the Stay Dry Inserts are $3.37 each. So for 12 changes it will only cost you $55.69!

Review: Duncan Hines Decadent Cakes

I admit I don't always make anything from scratch specially baking cake. Cake mix are just so much easier and convenient. I do prefer certain brand compare to others and Duncan Hines is always been on top of my list. That's why I was thrilled when I was sent two sample of their new Decadent Cakes.

Duncan Hines new Decadent Cake Line with two new incredibly indulgent offerings – Duncan Hines Decadent Triple Chocolate Cake with real chocolate chunks and rich fudge and Duncan Hines Decadent Apple Caramel cake with real apples and rich caramel. With more people entertaining at home and looking for better quality desserts, these decadent cakes are perfect. Both cakes contain zero grams of trans fat and NO hydrogenated oils. They are available in cake baking section of supermarkets nationwide in 20 oz size boxes at a SRP of $2.99.

I love anything chocolate so of course I tried the Triple Chocolate Cake. Actually my husband was the one who baked it. I was really amazed how good it was. It was moist and chocolaty, definitely not your ordinary cake mix. You can taste the chocolate chunk and fudge in every bite. I enjoyed it even without any frosting! The Apple Caramel cake was also delicious. My husband loved it but I prefer the chocolate. We will be buying some soon. And I think this time we will try their new Amazing Glazes with it.

You can go to Duncan Hines website to download $1 off coupon.

On September 21st, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment releases TINKER BELL AND THE GREAT FAIRY RESCUE on Blu-ray & DVD! Before Tink ever met Wendy, Michael, and John, she met Lizzy! This all-new adventure includes the vocal talents of Michael Sheen (Twilight New Moon), Pamela Adlon (King of the Hill), Lucy Liu (Kung Fu Panda), Kristen Chenoweth (Glee), Mae Whitman (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World), Raven-Symone (Revenge of the Bridesmaids), and more!

I recently had a chance to review Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue before the released date. My daughter never knew or heard of Tinker Bell until she saw the movie. Now she's a HUGE fan of Tinker Bell. She has seen the movie many times. I'm actually surprise she can sit and watch the whole movie (she just turned 3). I think we've seen the movie at least once a day (sometimes more) since we received it. But I don't mind at all because I enjoy watching it with her.

This movie is definitely one of her favorite movies. She loves Tinker Bell! Last week she received some cash for her birthday from her grandma. We took her to Toys "R" Us so she can pick anything she wants. She wanted to get everything Tinker Bell! She got a Tinker Bell costume with matching shoes and Tinker Bell doll! We will definitely get her the other Tinker Bell movies!

Below is a Trailer of the movie...

My Secret Circle review and giveaway

I recently had a chance to review My Secret Circle. Although my daughter is too young for it, I'm glad products like this exist. If you have tweens chances are they love to go online. Maybe they even have twitter or facebook account to keep in touch with their friends. I admit I love facebook but I don't think they are for kids. They are not safe for kids. Anyone can see their pictures or chat with them.

It offers a portable electronic journal that girls can hook on their backpacks, stuff in their pockets or put on a keychain and plug in wherever they can get online. Users can also create photo pages and scrapbook in a digital world where everything can either be kept private or shared only with their selected friends. My Secret Circle is a plug-'n-play product (a USB key), so girls can plug-in wherever there is a computer with an Internet connection. The B.F.F. Pack includes 2 access keys for sharing.

My Secret Circle comes with two USB, one for your child and one for their best friend. It actually reminds me of Facebook. You're child can make daily entries, add pictures and photo album that they can share with their BFF's. They can even chat and play games. You can finally let your child go to the internet without worrying because it's safe and secure.

Hibiclens and Hibistat Review and Giveaway!

Hibiclens® is an antiseptic antimicrobial skin cleanser that contains 4 percent chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG). CHG is not absorbed through the skin, instead it bonds to it and actively kills germs for up to six hours without leaving a residue. Hibiclens is gentle, used with water and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It kills the 2009 H1N1 virus strain and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Hibistat® is an individually-wrapped wipe that contains 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and 0.5 percent chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and is used without water. It has the same ability to kill germs as Hibiclens, yet is portable (think backpack, sports bag, purse).

I received a sample of each one to review. Actually Hibiclens is not new to us. My husband uses them to prevent any skin infection during his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. BJJ is a contact sport therefore Staph infections is very common. He wants to make sure he is protected and not bring anything home that will get our kids sick.

My husband really likes the Hibistat wipes. It's convenient to bring with him during training, instead of carrying a bottle.

These are some of the things you can do if you have kids that participate in any contact sports such as wresting. These can avoid MRSA or any kinds if skin infections.
  • Throughout the day, wash hands with antimicrobial antiseptic soap, such as Hibiclens®, which kills germs on contact and for up to six hours after washing.
  • Wash hands and forearms above the elbow immediately before and after sports activities using an antimicrobial wash or wipe, such as Hibiclens soap or Hibistat® wipes.
  • Shower immediately after sports activity in hot water with an antimicrobial cleaner.
  • Clean sports equipment after use and ensure it is dry after cleaning. Use antimicrobial wipes or sprays on equipment that cannot be washed.
  • Keep wounds covered with clean, dry bandages. Have them checked by a doctor if they are red or won’t heal or if flu like symptoms develop (fever).
  • Use a clean towel and don’t share towels or clothing with others.
  • Put dirty clothes and towels in a separate bag, not in backpacks or sports bags with clean clothing.
  • Wash and dry clothes and towels on the hottest setting possible. Make sure everything is completely dry before removing from the dryer.
Where You Can Buy it:
Hibiclens and Hibistat are available at drug stores including CVS, Rite Aid and Stop & Shop in the first aid section. Hibiclens is available at Walgreens, Walmart and Target in first aid. $1 off coupons for Hibistat are available for printing at www.sixhourdifference.com.

More Information:

Hand washing cloth diapers

I have been using cloth diapers for BOTH my kids for a couple of weeks now and I'm loving it. I wished I started sooner. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I'm sure it would be so much easier if we have washer and dryer at home. But since we don't I hand wash all soiled diapers every night and with two kids on diapers, that's about 12 to 18 diapers. I really wish Libby will be potty trained soon! It will make a lot easier.

It takes me about 45 minutes to 1 hour to wash, rinse and hang dry them. Sometimes it takes longer if there are stains I'm trying to take out. We live in an apartment so I can't hang them outside. I'm using a drying rack that I purchased at Kmart for $10. I put the drying rack by the window. I wash at night and they are dry and ready to use the following night so it takes a while to dry. And if it's cloudy and no sun even longer. So even if I wash every night, I need at least 2 days worth of cloth diapers.

When I started cloth diapering, I didn't think it would be possible to hand wash. I've searched and googled if anyone is hand washing cloth diapers and I did not find anything except for other moms asking the same thing as me, if it's possible to hand wash cloth diapers. The only instructions I've seen are for washing machine...so is it possible! SURE IT IS! I wish cloth diaper companies would acknowledge that because I don't think I'm the only one who's hand-washing or wanted to hand wash. I've seen a lot of moms asking in forums and there's not a lot of support out there.

My hand-washing routine...

I rinse the dirty diaper as soon as I take it out, even if it's just pee. I used to just soak them without rinsing but they start smelling. If it's poo, I make sure I take out as much poo as I can. I rinse with COLD water only. I learned that the hard way. The first time I rinsed a dirty diaper I used HOT water and it stained it even more. It took me a long time to take out the stain. Rinsing with cold water does a great job taking out the poop. It's also so much easier and faster to wash at night when all the poop are gone. So far all my diapers are clean and look new. No stain and they don't smell. My only concern is detergent buildup but so far they are very absorbent and no leaking.

Helping mommy hang diapers
