Hibiclens and Hibistat Review and Giveaway!

Hibiclens® is an antiseptic antimicrobial skin cleanser that contains 4 percent chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG). CHG is not absorbed through the skin, instead it bonds to it and actively kills germs for up to six hours without leaving a residue. Hibiclens is gentle, used with water and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It kills the 2009 H1N1 virus strain and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Hibistat® is an individually-wrapped wipe that contains 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and 0.5 percent chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and is used without water. It has the same ability to kill germs as Hibiclens, yet is portable (think backpack, sports bag, purse).

I received a sample of each one to review. Actually Hibiclens is not new to us. My husband uses them to prevent any skin infection during his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. BJJ is a contact sport therefore Staph infections is very common. He wants to make sure he is protected and not bring anything home that will get our kids sick.

My husband really likes the Hibistat wipes. It's convenient to bring with him during training, instead of carrying a bottle.

These are some of the things you can do if you have kids that participate in any contact sports such as wresting. These can avoid MRSA or any kinds if skin infections.
  • Throughout the day, wash hands with antimicrobial antiseptic soap, such as Hibiclens®, which kills germs on contact and for up to six hours after washing.
  • Wash hands and forearms above the elbow immediately before and after sports activities using an antimicrobial wash or wipe, such as Hibiclens soap or Hibistat® wipes.
  • Shower immediately after sports activity in hot water with an antimicrobial cleaner.
  • Clean sports equipment after use and ensure it is dry after cleaning. Use antimicrobial wipes or sprays on equipment that cannot be washed.
  • Keep wounds covered with clean, dry bandages. Have them checked by a doctor if they are red or won’t heal or if flu like symptoms develop (fever).
  • Use a clean towel and don’t share towels or clothing with others.
  • Put dirty clothes and towels in a separate bag, not in backpacks or sports bags with clean clothing.
  • Wash and dry clothes and towels on the hottest setting possible. Make sure everything is completely dry before removing from the dryer.

  26. If you are interested in enhanced functionality, you will find that
this Personal Heart Monitor watch may be what you are searching for.
They choose brand name designer watches that double as status symbols.
Some economical brands include Invicta watch and Orient watch,
and then the price can reach into the very expensive range depending on
the embellishments or the prestige of a specific brand.

  27. I personally didn't buy an organic bassinet mattress because my model came with the non-organic variety. Recently, I discovered that bassinets were being offered in non-traditional styles, such as round, and I am sooo jealous that I have already had my three babies, and being recently divorced, don't know if I will have any more children that
would need such a piece. Check also for features like water- or flame-resistance.
