Intelligent First Aid Review and Giveaway

My wife and I are both nurses, and have over 10 years of nursing experience between her and I. We have seen almost majority if not virtually all types of injuries. From scrapes, burns, lacerations, fractures, different types of shock ( hypovolemic, anaphylactic & septic shock, amongst others), concussions, etc. I feel like I am prepared to face any type of injuries that can occur anytime and anywhere...aside from one important factor: what happens when the person injured are a family member and close to me, like my kids? When it comes to treating family and friends, there is a huge difference in providing care especially in an emergency setting, as there are emotional ties and bonds that will affect (to a degree) the ability to use appropriate thought and nursing processes.

This is where the Talking Intelligent First Aid Kit comes in, as the name suggests, this ingenious first aid kit will instruct you on how to deal with specific injuries more effectively. There are 9 different packs that cover the gamut of injuries such as cpr/breathing, bleeding and head/spine. Each pack has supplies and best of all, a talking card that will guide you step by step, in dealing with a specific injury. The packs are all separated to avoid mix ups and comes in a unique looking bag for easy identification.

I think its perfect for my wife and I, specially when dealing with accidents and injuries involving loved ones. The step by step audio instructions will help me "snap out" of distress mode and get me to refocus on what I need to do.

So whether you have no knowledge of emergency treatment, or you are an emotionally distressed health worker that needs to be guided to the right path, the Talking Intelligent First Aid Kit is a valuable tool in any emergency situation.

You can purchase the Talking First Aid Kits for $149.99.

  50. I learned that if you have an eye injury and need to keep it immobile, when you cover that eye, you should also cover the second eye. Since eyes tend to move in unison, if you keep the second eye uncovered you will be tempted to look around and that will cause the injured eye to move as well.

  152. I learned that You are faced with a bleeding injury. You locate your first aid kit and grab the gauze sponges. After placing the gauze over the wound, they quickly become blood soaked. As you proceed to add more gauze sponges, you first remove the blood soaked sponges and then place new sponges on the wound.

This may sound right to most, but do not remove the blood soaked dressings, as you should place new dressings over the blood soaked ones. Leaving these in place will help “clot” the wound and control bleeding. It’s natural to think that once a gauze dressing becomes blood soaked it needs to be removed but, doing so will only start the bleeding again and bring you back to square one.

  164. I did not know to flush out your eye for at least 15 minutes (if contaminated with a foreign liquid). I would have splashed water in it just a few times and thought I did a good job! Karen D. kjsbristol@comcast.net

  189. Great site! I learned that when you have a bleeding injury, do not remove the original blood soaked dressings, as you should place new dressings over the blood soaked ones. This helps clotting. Contact info on my blog, thanks.
